Glass mica ceramic materials mold like plastics, have a coefficient of thermal expansion close to many metals, and possess electrical and thermal properties superior to most organic plastics.  Their dense, rigid materials are easily machined.  They are also impervious to moisture, are arc resistant and can withstand thermal cycling and nuclear radiation.  Unlike organic materials, they do not out-gas, smoke or burn.

Glass mica materials have continuous operating temperature ranges of -400°F to +1400°F.  They can be machined to meet specific customer specification.  They are also moldable, like plastic.  A unique property of this material allows it to accept metal inserts during molding for total reduced component cost..
